Nosotras Investigamos
11th February 2026 – International Day of Women and Girls in Science
Patricia Segura and Chloé Gomez are co-organizing with Andrea Fuentes and Maria Luz Montesinos Jornadas de Neurocientíficas: Nosotras Investigamos, a conference highlighting outstanding female neuroscientists in Seville and addressing gender-related challenges in academic careers. 👩🔬 👧
🧠 🔬 The conference will take place at CICUS (9:30–18:30) and is open to the general public (not exclusively to those from a scientific background) and will include outreach talks in neuroscience, a keynote lecture on gender and science, a roundtable discussion, an emotional well-being workshop in research contexts led by a psychologist, and an artistic–scientific activity open to the general public to close the event.

Brain Week
10th and 11th March 2025
Claudio Aleman Morillo, Alessia Pasquini, Patricia Segura and Chloé Gomez took part in the scientific dissemination day organized by the Faculty of Medicine of Seville, for the brain week, with a workshop untitled “Exploracion of the cerebral arquitecture throught sctrucutral neuroimaging”.
🧠 🔬 During this session, we shared the work carried out in the neuroimaging laboratory: collaborative quality control of structural MRIs, as well as image processing for 3D reconstruction (Patricia), the use of a new method, normative modeling, to study the trajectory of cerebral structures (Alessia) and their use for clinical application in psicosis (Claudio and Chloé).

International Day of Women and Girls in Science
11th February 2025
Last 11F, the researchers Patricia Segura and Chloé Gomez brought science closer to the high school students of IES Salvador Távora with the informative talk “Neuroimaging as a tool to know the anatomy of our brain” 👩🔬 👧
🧠 🔬 During the session, they shared their day-to-day life in the lab and explained how they use structural neuroimaging to study brain alterations in schizophrenia and other clinical applications in psychiatry. The curiosity and enthusiasm of the students reflected the importance of generating female referents in STEM and fostering scientific vocations in the new generations.
This year, 11F has put the focus on the STEM of women in science, making visible the challenges they face, such as gender inequality and family reconciliation. More than ever, it is essential to support and recognize the role of women researchers in all disciplines. An unmissable event to inspire and build a more diverse future in science.
